Embracing Islam

I can only assume that you came to this page because either you are curious about how people become Muslims or you want to become one yourself. If you want to become Muslim, I congratulate you on the best decision you could ever make in your life and am glad to see another person becoming part of the best of people. If you are just curious about how it's done, I congratulate you on your inquisitiveness and may Allah guide you.

Embracing Islam is quite easy. The only witness you need is Allah Almighty. All you have to do is declare your faith by saying the "Shahada" with all sincerity.

The Shahada:

I bear witness there there is no god but Allah

I also bear witness that Muhammad is a messenger of Allah.

In Arabic:

ash-hadu-an-la-il-laha-il-Allah

wa-ash-hadu-an-na-Muhammad-ar-Rasool-lu-lah

Congratulations, you are now a Muslim! Allahu Akbar!

Now, don't feel like you have to rush to learn everything all at once. You have taken the most important step and fulfilled the first pillar of Islam. Everything else will come in time. The first thing you should really concentrate on now is learning how to perform the second pillar of Islam: Salat.
